Volleyball Recap: Nickerson Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Nickerson duked it out with Cheney on Monday. The Panthers fell 2-0 to the Cardinals. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Cardinals: they've now lost eight in a row.

Nickerson was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-22.

Cheney can attribute much of their success to Kenadi Thome, who had 18 digs and two assists. That's the most digs Thome has posted since back in September.

Nickerson's loss dropped their record down to 10-25. As for Cheney, they have been performing well recently as they've won 20 of their last 24 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-10 record this season.

Nickerson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cheney, they have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Haven on the 20th.
