Softball Recap: Gaffney Takes a Loss

Gaffney lost against Boiling Springs last Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Gaffney Indians fell 8-4 to the Boiling Springs Bulldogs. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Maddy Burgess made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Mollie Byars, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Even though they lost, Gaffney hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That's the most strikeouts they've managed all season.

Gaffney now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Boiling Springs, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Gaffney didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-7 loss against Spartanburg on the 12th. As for Boiling Springs, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 30-0 win against Eastside on the 12th.
