Volleyball Recap: Port Clinton Redskins vs. Edison Chargers
Port Clinton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against the Edison Chargers, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.
While Port Clinton was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Edison's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-12, 25-14.
Marissa Frohne paced Port Clinton's offense, picking up three kills. Frohne got some help from Evalee Cross and her five assists.
Port Clinton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Edison, the win snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 9-12 record.
Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Port Clinton and Crestview will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Edison, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against St. Paul on the 11th.
