Football Recap: Valier Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Valier lost against Lincoln back in August of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Panthers were dealt a 74-25 defeat at the hands of the Lynx. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Montana football rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Lynx are ranked third).

Kayden Riddle had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 193 yards and five touchdowns on only eight carries, while also throwing for 132 yards and three TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes for Lincoln. Those five rushing touchdowns gave Riddle a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dylan Jakushak, who gained 77 total yards and a touchdown.

This is the second loss in a row for Valier and nudges their season record down to 0-2. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 26.5 points this season. As for Lincoln, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Valier does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lincoln, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Heart Butte at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
