Basketball Recap: Laurel Find Success

While Laurel has struggled at home with three straight losses, that wasn't the case on Wednesday thanks to Tristan Williams. The Laurel Gators skirted past the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Bees 53-51 thanks in part to Williams, who posted 31 points and seven boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Laurel's points.

Brecksville-Broadview Heights lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jessie Zenir, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 16 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jossie Hackney, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds.

Laurel's victory bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Brecksville-Broadview Heights, their record is now 15-5.

Laurel didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-46 win against Green on the 10th. As for Brecksville-Broadview Heights, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 63-57 victory against Copley on the 8th.
