Baseball Game Preview: Elk Rapids Elks vs. St. Mary Eagles

The Elk Rapids Elks will venture away from home to square off against the St. Mary Eagles at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Elk Rapids' hitters haven't had much luck over their past four games, but Wednesday's matchup will give them a chance to turn things around.

Elk Rapids fell victim to Kingsley and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stags.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for St. Mary, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past Ellsworth 20-0 on Saturday. Considering the Eagles have won three contests by more than 12 runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Elk Rapids' defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for St. Mary, they now have a winning record of 4-3-1.

Everything went Elk Rapids' way against St. Mary when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Elk Rapids made off with a 10-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Elks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
