Baseball Game Preview: Nuview Bridge Knights vs. San Jacinto Tigers

The Nuview Bridge Knights will face off against the San Jacinto Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Nuview Bridge knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully San Jacinto likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Nuview Bridge earned a 13-9 victory over Santa Rosa Academy.

Christian Flores was incredible, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4. He has become a key player for Nuview Bridge: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Carlos Candelario, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Flores wasn't the only one making solid contact: Nuview Bridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. The Knights are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for San Jacinto's offense. They came up short against Jurupa Valley on Monday, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Tigers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Nuview Bridge's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-7. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.6 runs over those games. As for San Jacinto, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.
