Basketball Game Preview: Downtown Magnets Suns vs. South El Monte Eagles

The Downtown Magnets Suns will face off against the South El Monte Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Downtown Magnets saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They were dealt an 86-39 loss at the hands of Palos Verdes. The Suns have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite their defeat, Downtown Magnets saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Julian Macias, who posted nine points and three steals, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Lei, who scored six points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, South El Monte was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 38-33 to Garfield.

Downtown Magnets now has a losing record of 1-2. As for South El Monte, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
