Basketball Recap: Groom Comes Up Short

Groom lost against McLean two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Groom Tigers were beaten by the McLean Tigers 73-17. The contest marked Groom's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

McLean's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kasidy Russell, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Russell has scored at least a third of McLean's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailo Moon, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 boards.

Groom has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for McLean, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 18-3.

Groom has already played their next game (against Hedley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. McLean has already played their next contest, a 59-39 win against Claude on the 14th.
