Preview: Escambia Gators vs. Pine Forest Eagles
The Escambia Gators will head out on the road to face off against the Pine Forest Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Escambia is ranked 114th, while Pine Forest is ranked 102nd).
After a string of four wins, Escambia's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 24-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of Choctawhatchee.
Dorrion White put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 41 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Pine Forest took a serious blow against IMG Academy on Friday, falling 55-14. Pine Forest has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The losses dropped Escambia to 5-2 and Pine Forest to 4-4.
Escambia was dealt a bruising 36-3 loss at the hands of Pine Forest in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Escambia, Tierra Wilson (who threw for 184 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground) won't be suiting up this time.
