Football Recap: PAL Academy Comes Up Short

PAL Academy played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Hesperia Christian Patriots and fell 50-18. The Bulls have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

A big part of Hesperia Christian's victory came down to the chemistry between Hunter Halbrook and his top target Noah Griffin. Halbrook threw for 230 yards and seven TDs while completing 72.2% of his passes while Griffin picked up 153 receiving yards and four scores. The dominant performance also gave Halbrook a new career-high in passer rating (153.9).

PAL Academy now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Hesperia Christian, their record is now 4-1.

Looking ahead, PAL Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Valley Oaks Charter at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hesperia Christian, they will head out on the road to take on Lucerne Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots will be up against the Mustangs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 34.75 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
