Basketball Recap: Conestoga Takes a Loss

Conestoga was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 77-37 loss at the hands of the Raymond Central Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 33rd).

Conestoga's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ayla Garrett, who posted 13 points. What's more, Garrett also racked up three assists, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Grace Rodis was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Conestoga's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Raymond Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Conestoga has already played their next match (against Arlington), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Raymond Central will challenge Louisville at 6:00 p.m. on February 11th.
