Basketball Recap: Jamaya Boddie Key Part of a Team Effort in Tigers Win

While Ragsdale didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Southern Guilford Storm 65-44 on Wednesday. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Storm are ranked 423rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ragsdale's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamaya Boddie, who posted 16 points. Brooke Parker was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Southern Guilford lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Lanor'Risa Fordburnett, who put up ten points. Fordburnett continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Danielle Walker, who had ten points.

Ragsdale's record is now 6-2. As for Southern Guilford, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-7.

Ragsdale didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 34-32 victory against Grimsley on the 13th. As for Southern Guilford, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 61-48 win against Northeast Guilford on the 13th.
