Softball Recap: Atwater Has No Trouble Against Golden Valley

Atwater never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Golden Valley Cougars with a sharp 6-0 victory. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matchups by six runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Kylie Medina's shutout, as she gave up just six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lauren Gonzales, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Madi Hiler, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Atwater's win bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Golden Valley, they dropped their record down to 10-14 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Atwater has already played their next game, a 19-5 victory against Buhach Colony on the 1st. As for Golden Valley, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Ripon at 4:00 p.m. on the 9th. The Indians will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight.
