Baseball Game Preview: Pine Grove Panthers vs. East Union Urchins

Pine Grove is 0-10 against East Union since February of 2020 but things could change on Thursday. The Panthers will look to defend their home field against the Urchins at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

New Albany hit Pine Grove with a seven-run first inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 16-3.

Meanwhile, East Union lost 14-2 to Booneville on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Urchins have suffered against the Blue Devils since March 1, 2021.

Evan Kennedy was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

East Union's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Pine Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Pine Grove might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from East Union in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
