Baseball Recap: Shannon Comes Up Short

Shannon extended their losing streak to six on Monday, dropping them down to 4-15. They came up short against the Hatley Tigers, falling 14-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-3 back in February.

Shannon saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Donovan Mcguaghy, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one RBI. Braylen Deans was another, earning one run and three stolen bases.

As for Hatley, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-14 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games.

On Hatley's side, Koltan Brown made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave Brown a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Hatley is undefeated when Brown posts two or more runs, but 6-14 otherwise.

Shannon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hatley, they will head out to face off against Amory at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
