Football Preview: North Putnam Cougars vs. Greencastle Tiger Cubs
The North Putnam Cougars will square off against the Greencastle Tiger Cubs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Putnam will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
Last Friday, North Putnam took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 55-6 victory over Brown County. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won four matchups by 32 points or more so far this season.
Christian Kramer was his usual excellent self, rushing for 190 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per carry, and also throwing for 160 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 passes. He is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last four games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Paxton O'Brien, who picked up 61 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to North Putnam's defense and their 9.5 sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Kyler Hankins and Hudson Rowe, who racked up 4.5 sacks between them.
Meanwhile, Greencastle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 56-7 loss at the hands of Cascade. The Tiger Cubs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-7.
North Putnam's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Greencastle, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
