Basketball Recap: Lake Worth Comes Up Short

Lake Worth lost against Dr. Joaquin Garcia back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lake Worth Trojans received a blow as they fell 44-26 to the Dr. Joaquin Garcia Bulldogs. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Lake Worth saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jocilynne Sweeney went 5 of 10 en route to 12 points and five steals. That was a full 46.2% of Lake Worth's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyona Razz-Wilkins, who put up eight points.

Even though they lost, Lake Worth smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.
