Basketball Game Preview: Hancock Hawks vs. Gulfport Admirals

Hancock hasn't had much luck against Gulfport recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Hancock Hawks will head out to face off against the Gulfport Admirals at 7:30 p.m. Hancock will be strutting in after a victory while Gulfport will be coming in after a loss.

Last Saturday, Hancock earned a 45-35 win over Center Hill.

Meanwhile, Gulfport faced Starkville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Gulfport took a 65-48 bruising from Starkville. The Admirals' defeat signaled the end of their 13-game winning streak.

Hancock's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Gulfport, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-1.

Hancock skirted past Gulfport 58-55 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hancock since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
