Football Game Preview: Whites Creek Cobras vs. Maplewood Panthers

The Whites Creek Cobras will head out on the road to take on the Maplewood Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Friday, Whites Creek didn't have quite enough to beat White House-Heritage and fell 21-18. The matchup marked the Cobras' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from De'Aries Holland, who rushed for 31 yards and two TDs, and also picked up 47 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Maplewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against Kenwood, falling 37-12.

Maplewood's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Whites Creek, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

Whites Creek was dealt a bruising 54-0 defeat at the hands of Maplewood in their previous matchup back in September of 2018. Can the Cobras avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
