Soccer Game Preview: Waukegan vs. Lake Forest Academy

The Waukegan Bulldogs will take on the Lake Forest Academy Caxys at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Waukegan's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Waukegan turned things around against Mundelein on Thursday. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time Waukegan have been dealt a draw since back in April.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Lake Forest Academy sidestepped North Shore Country Day for a 2-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Lake Forest Academy.

Kayleigh Dunford was the driving force of Lake Forest Academy's attack as she scored both of Lake Forest Academy's goals, bringing her season total up to six goals.

Lake Forest Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. Waukegan's draw makes their record 7-11-3 this season.

Waukegan came out on top in a nail-biter against Lake Forest Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2022, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Caxys turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
