Recap: Lima Christian Saints vs. Young Women's College Prep Griffins
The Lima Christian Saints scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They managed a 66-61 victory over Young Women's College Prep. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leading Lima Christian to victory were Lily Herring and Alyssa Marsh. Herring scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and six assists, while Marsh dropped a double-double on 34 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Marsh has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Abby Britton, who scored four points along with two steals.
Lima Christian is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Young Women's College Prep, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-8.
Lima Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Friendship at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th. Friendship is coming into the match with three straight defeats on the road, meaning Lima Christian will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Young Women's College Prep, they will face off against Finney at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Finney will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Young Women's College Prep surely won't give up without a fight.
