Recap: West Ridge Wolves vs. Tennessee Vikings
The West Ridge Wolves scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Tennessee and snuck past 77-75. The win was all the more spectacular given West Ridge's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 187th, while Tennessee is ranked 50th).
Despite the defeat, Tennessee saw an underclassman step up: Addie Wilhoit scored 45 points along with six steals and five rebounds. The matchup was Wilhoit's tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keeley Canter, who scored four points along with 14 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Tennessee were working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
West Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Tennessee, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
West Ridge will head out on the road to face off against Johnson County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tennessee will be home for the holidays to greet Gate City at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
