Baseball Recap: Stoneman Douglas Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Stoneman Douglas came out on top against Centennial on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fifth inning. The Eagles took their game against the Bulldogs 10-5. The victory was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won five matchups in a row.

Tyler Stertzbach looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.

At the plate, Cade Raley was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Gargiulo, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Stoneman Douglas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Stoneman Douglas' record is now 12-3. As for Centennial, the loss snapped their winning streak at eight games and leaves them with a 12-4 record.

Stoneman Douglas and Centennial should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in their respective state rankings. The Eagles will challenge Cardinal Gibbons at 4:00 p.m. on the 24th with a big rank advantage (6 vs. 187). Meanwhile, Centennial (ranked third) will meet Pine View (ranked 29th) at 3:00 p.m. on the 24th.
