Baseball Recap: Newark Central Comes Up Short

Newark Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 12-1 to the Payne Tech Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-1 on Wednesday.

Newark Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Payne Tech, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-4.

Looking ahead, Newark Central will be playing in front of their home fans against Franklin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Blue Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Payne Tech, they will challenge East Side at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
