Soccer Recap: Lewisburg Wins High-Profile Match Against Hernando

On Thursday, Lewisburg faced Hernando in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Lewisburg Patriots never let the Hernando Tigers onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory. This was a revenge game for the Patriots: when they faced off against the Tigers back in December of 2024, they had to take a 2-1 defeat.

Madison Woodson and Larkyn Griffin scored both of Lewisburg's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 18 goals.

Lewisburg is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Hernando, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6-1.

Lewisburg will host DeSoto Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Hernando does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
