Volleyball Recap: Pineapple Cove Classical Academy Takes a Loss

Pineapple Cove Classical Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Calvary Christian Academy Panthers. If the Patriots were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Panthers when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Pineapple Cove Classical Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 13-25, 25-15, 25-16, 25-17.

Their offense was headlined by Peach Shutte and Ameera Babooram, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Iyani Alerte and her 12 assists. Lillie Gazey controlled things from the service line, finishing with nine aces.

Pineapple Cove Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Calvary Christian Academy, their win ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-8.

Looking ahead, Pineapple Cove Classical Academy will face off against Master's Academy at 7:30 p.m. on October 2. As for Calvary Christian Academy, they will head out to face off against Westwood at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
