Baseball Recap: East Limestone Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

Ardmore typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday East Limestone proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tigers, sneaking past 9-7. This was a revenge game for the Indians: when they faced off against the Tigers on Thursday, they had to take a 5-4 loss.

Will Starr looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.

On the hitting side, Matthew Drake was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Leyton Coffman was another key player, scoring a run.

East Limestone has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Ardmore, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-11.

Looking ahead, East Limestone will challenge Decatur at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ardmore, they will square off against Madison County at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
