Basketball Game Preview: South Central Calhoun Titans vs. Pocahontas Indians

The South Central Calhoun Titans will head out to face off against the Pocahontas Indians at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. South Central Calhoun has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 181 points over their last three contests.

Last Friday, in a tight game that could have gone either way, South Central Calhoun made off with a 59-58 win over Alta-Aurelia.

Meanwhile, Pocahontas came into Friday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They skirted past Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire 40-38. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while the Titans are ranked 225th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

South Central Calhoun's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8. As for Pocahontas, their record is now 9-3.

South Central Calhoun might still be hurting after the 66-46 loss they got from Pocahontas in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can South Central Calhoun avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
