Basketball Game Preview: Prospect Ridge Academy Miners vs. St. Mary's Academy Wildcats

Two dominant forwards in Kayah Robbins and Aleena Nauman are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Prospect Ridge Academy Miners will head out on the road to challenge the St. Mary's Academy Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Prospect Ridge Academy has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with nine straight losses, while St. Mary's Academy will come in with three straight victories.

On Monday, Prospect Ridge Academy was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 40-39 to SkyView Academy.

Meanwhile, St. Mary's Academy's and DSST: Cedar's match on Monday was close at halftime, but St. Mary's Academy turned on the heat in the second half with 27 points. St. Mary's Academy blew past DSST: Cedar 44-23.

Prospect Ridge Academy better keep an eye on Nauman. She was instrumental in St. Mary's Academy's win, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. Nauman is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Sorenna Cooper, who posted eight points and six rebounds.

Prospect Ridge Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for St. Mary's Academy, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Prospect Ridge Academy suffered a grim 43-19 defeat to St. Mary's Academy in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Thankfully for Prospect Ridge Academy, Emily Rodriguez (who went 5 of 12 en route to 13 points along with six boards and six steals) won't be suiting up this time.
