Recap: Peoria Panthers vs. Goldwater Bulldogs
The Peoria Panthers waltzed into their matchup on Friday with five straight wins but they left with six. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 56-18 victory over Goldwater. Given Peoria's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Goldwater is ranked 245th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Peoria's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cieraka Lynch, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lynch has scored all season. Harmony Re was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Peoria's win bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Goldwater, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 7-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peoria will take on Agua Fria at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Goldwater, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Estrella Foothills at 5:30 p.m. Estrella Foothills is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 70.6 points per game.
