Football Recap: Battery Creek Comes Up Short

Battery Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 19-14 heartbreaker at the hands of the John Paul II Golden Warrriors. The Dolphins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Warrriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Jadon Inabinett and Andrew Boyden. Inabinett rushed for 108 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries while Boyden rushed for 90 yards and one TD. Inabinett really tore up the turf during one magnificent 74-yard run.

Battery Creek's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for John Paul II, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Battery Creek will challenge Keenan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for John Paul II, they will take on Bethesda Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
