Basketball Recap: Lewistown Indians vs. Farmington Farmers
The Lewistown Indians waltzed into their game on Monday with four straight wins but they left with five. They claimed a resounding 63-31 victory over Farmington on the road. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Lewistown also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2023.
Lewistown got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Abby Wiegand out in front who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Lexi Kruzan was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Lewistown's win bumped their record up to 16-13. As for Farmington, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-23 record this season.
Lewistown will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Spartans at 1:30 p.m. Bushnell-Prairie City comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Farmington, they will head out on the road to square off against the Tigers at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Illini Bluffs will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
