St. Luke extended their winning streak to six on Monday, bumping their season record up to 6-1 in the process. Everything went their way against the Hackley Hornets as they made off with a 14-3 win. Considering the Storm have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Caroline D'Onofrio was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Lucy Millones was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Makena Woodfork, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

St. Luke's always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hackley only posted an OBP of .417.

As for Hackley, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-2. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this match were averaging four runs allowed.

On Hackley's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrea Hegarty, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: St. Luke's beat the Hornets by a score of 14-3 later that day.
