Basketball Game Preview: Albany Hornets vs. Loranger Wolves

The Albany Hornets will venture away from home to take on the Loranger Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Albany will be strutting in after a victory while Loranger will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Tuesday, Albany didn't have too much trouble with Sumner as they won 54-35. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Cowboys are ranked 355th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Loranger was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost to French Settlement on the road by a 62-48 margin.

Albany is on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 22 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 27-11 record this season. As for Loranger, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-23.

Albany took a serious blow against Loranger in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, falling 74-45. Can Albany avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
