Softball Game Preview: West Bladen Knights vs. Clinton Dark Horses

For the second straight game, West Bladen will face off against Clinton. The Knights will host the Dark Horses at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

West Bladen had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Clinton on Tuesday. The Knights blew past the Dark Horses 9-1. That eight run margin sets a new team best for the Knights this season.

Marlene Crabtree spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits.

At the plate, Kali Allen was a standout: she scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Addison Wilcox, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

West Bladen is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Clinton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
