On Saturday, Sparkman faced Central in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Sparkman Senators had just enough and edged out the Central Red Devils 4-2. This was a revenge game for the Senators: when they faced off against the Red Devils on Saturday, they had to take a 5-3 defeat.

Carly White was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Eden Parker, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Sparkman hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matchups.

Sparkman's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Central, the loss snapped their winning streak at ten games and leaves them with a 10-1 record.

Coming up, Sparkman will be taking part in a tournament against Tipton-Rosemark Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Central, they are taking a road trip to challenge Smiths Station at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
