Preview: Stratton Eagles vs. Idalia Wolves

Two dominant guards in Cyler Notter and Kale Morris are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Stratton Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Idalia Wolves at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

After a string of six wins, Stratton's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They suffered a tough 73-50 loss at the hands of Simla. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Stratton in their matchups with Simla: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Idalia came tearing into Saturday's match with 12 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.1 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 54-35 win over Wiggins. Idalia pushed the score to 50-23 by the end of the third, a deficit Wiggins cut but never quite recovered from.

Idalia's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tarek Glanz led the charge by scoring 16 points along with three steals. Glanz hasn't dropped below 16 points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Fernando Herrrera, who scored 11 points along with four steals.

Stratton's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-4. As for Idalia, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3.

Everything came up roses for Stratton against Idalia in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 74-45 victory. Does Stratton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Idalia turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
