Volleyball Recap: Gardena Comes Up Short

Gardena was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Banning Pilots. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Gardena took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-14, 25-23.

Gardena's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Banning, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-9.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Gardena is set to square off against their familiar foe Rancho Dominguez at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Banning will take on rival San Pedro at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
