Soccer Game Preview: South Summit vs. American Heritage

The South Summit Wildcats will face off against the American Heritage Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.

South Summit is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals on Tuesday, they were much more limited against St. Joseph on Thursday. They came up short against the Jayhawks, falling 6-0.

Meanwhile, American Leadership Academy kept up with American Heritage until halftime on Thursday, but afterwards: not so much. The Patriots put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 6-1 victory. The result was nothing new for American Heritage, who have now won five contests by five goals or more so far this season.

They hit American Leadership Academy with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Izzy Steele (3), Ainsley Suelzle (2), and Maryann Jacob.

The win (which was American Heritage's third in a row) raised their record to 8-6. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matchups. As for South Summit, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
