Softball Recap: North Mason Bulldogs vs. Shelton Highclimbers
North Mason took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They put the hurt on the Shelton Highclimbers with a sharp 13-6 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Addyson Roy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kennady Carson, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Taylor Madison, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
Shelton dropped their record down to 1-1 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Looking ahead, North Mason is headed away from home for the first time to take on Chimacum at 12:00 p.m. on March 22nd. As for Shelton, they will welcome Bremerton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
