Biggsville West Central came tearing into Monday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Hamilton Titans. Give the Heat's pitching crew some credit: that's the team's sixth straight shutout.

Miley Stimpson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. Those 15 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Lily Higgins and Addie Seitz did most of the damage at the plate: Higgins went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs, while Seitz went 3-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits Seitz has posted over her last 13 contests. Another player making a difference was Jaelyn Hines, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

Biggsville West Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 11 consecutive games.

Biggsville West Central pushed their record up to 19-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Hamilton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-8.

Looking ahead, Biggsville West Central will challenge Bureau Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Heat 1.2, the Storm 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Hamilton, they will take on Rushville-Industry at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
