Softball Recap: Sparrows Point Comes Up Short

After flying high against Catonsville on Thursday, Sparrows Point came back down to earth. The Pointers came up short against the Dulaney Lions on Friday, falling 11-1. The Pointers have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Sparrows Point saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddy Funkhauser, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Sparrows Point's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Dulaney, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Coming up, Sparrows Point will square off against Hereford at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Dulaney, they will challenge Eastern Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mavericks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of.
