Volleyball Recap: Mt. Zion Comes Up Short

Mt. Zion lost against Shelbyville back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Braves fell just short of the Rams by a score of 2-1.

Kendall Smith paced Mt. Zion's offense, picking up nine kills. Smith got some help from Ty Ball and her ten assists.

Shelbyville had a senior duo take command as Brooklyn Lynch had 21 digs and one assist and Tailyn Hancock had 11 digs. Those 11 digs set a new season-high mark for Hancock.

Mt. Zion's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Shelbyville, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.

Mt. Zion wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against St. Anthony on the 20th. As for Shelbyville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Father McGivney Catholic on the 20th.
