St. Patrick got themselves on the board against Tylertown on Tuesday, but Tylertown never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Chiefs with a sharp 17-0 victory. The Fighting Irish might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by nine runs or more this season.

Ave DiFilippo looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

On the hitting side, Victoria Barhonovich was a standout: she scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Colson, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

St. Patrick always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tylertown only posted an OBP of .111.

St. Patrick has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Tylertown, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14-1.

Coincidentally, St. Patrick and Tylertown will both be playing Perry Central the next time they take the field. The Chiefs will head out to face the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Fighting Irish will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
