Soccer Game Preview: Peach County vs. Dougherty

Peach County will head out to take on Dougherty at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Peach County's defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so Dougherty's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Peach County will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal last Friday, then bounced right back against Monroe on Thursday. Peach County's defense stepped up to hand Monroe a 10-0 shutout. Given Peach County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 138th, while Monroe are ranked 409th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Dougherty was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They came up short against Westover, falling 8-1. Dougherty haven't had much luck with Westover recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Peach County pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those four games. As for Dougherty, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Peach County took their victory against Dougherty when the teams last played on March 4th by a conclusive 10-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Peach County since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
