Des Moines and Cimarron are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2022, but not for long. The Demons will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Rams at 5:00 p.m. Neither of these teams found much success offensively their last time out, scoring well below their season average.

On Tuesday, Des Moines lost to Roy/Mosquero at home by a 40-23 margin. The matchup marked the Demons' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Cimarron's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell 36-24 to Roy/Mosquero. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Blue/Lady Blue are ranked 29th).

Cimarron's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Des Moines, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 11-8.

Des Moines was able to grind out a solid win over Cimarron in their previous meeting back in February of 2025, winning 59-47. Will the Demons repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
