Baseball Recap: Mount Abram's Undefeated Season over After Five Games

Mount Abram fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Mt. Blue on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 4-3. The matchup marked the Roadrunners' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Bryce Wilcox put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Having lost for the first time this season, Mount Abram fell to 4-1. As for Mt. Blue, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-1.

Coming up, Mount Abram will face off against Old Orchard Beach at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mt. Blue, they will challenge Oxford Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last six games the Vikings have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
