Recap: North East Grape Pickers vs. Iroquois Braves
The North East Grape Pickers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 56-43 win over Iroquois. That's another feather in the cap for North East, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Iroquois' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Orlando Brown, who scored 15 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Brink, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
North East has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Iroquois, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-9.
North East will head out on the road to challenge Fairview at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North East is coming into the matchup with four straight victories on the road, meaning Fairview will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. As for Iroquois, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mercyhurst Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mercyhurst Prep has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 322 points over their last five games.
