Softball Game Preview: Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union Royals vs. West Sioux Falcons

The Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union Royals will head out to face off against the West Sioux Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The last four games Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against St. Mary's, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Royals had just enough and edged out the Hawks 13-12.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Sioux). They walked away with a 17-13 victory over Sheldon on Saturday. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Orabs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

West Sioux's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.

Everything went Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union's way against West Sioux in their previous meeting back in June of 2024, as Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union made off with an 8-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Royals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
